there is only one thing that is left of you in my room
it is the scent of your skin on my pillow that has become so familiar
but i dont want it to be there anymore because you're gone
and the last thing i need now is the thought of you on that pillow when i try to sleep
'don't you cry', that's what you said when you left
but darling, those tears were all i had to make my heart a little lighter
i went out to feed the ducks
gave them all the bread i had in my pockets
but they were never satisfied
they were staring greedily with their beaks opened wide
and i thought
why do they always want more than i can give?
why do they always take everything i have?
i tried to give you all that was left
and in the end you were all that i had
why do they always want more than i can give?
why do they always take everything i have?
why do they always want more than i can give?
why do they always take everything i have?
I bought the vinyl back in 2009 and have just found this proper digital version to replace my scratchy vinyl rip.
A really, really lovely album that I love as much now as I did when I first heard it.
Tough to choose a favourite track but if Welcome to Loveland doesn’t immediately sweep you off your feet then you probably don’t really like music :D Alpha Beta Café
